On January 28,
2014 IHS Transition II students and staff will spend the day at Tennessee Capitol building . They will represent WCS at the TN State Legislature and get the opportunity to see our state leaders in action. Students will be able to see how bills become laws. Also, students that attend will have a time to meet with our local represenatives and ask them questions that relate to their concerns and needs towards a better life.

Currently, our students are brainstorming in class on possible questions that they would like to ask our Senators and Representatives. Some of the areas that they are currently working on our transportation, housing, job placements opportunities, education, etc. Discussions have led to more understanding about how our government works for the betterment of its citizens. Plus, it has allowed our students the opportunity to express their concerns and dreams for their future. Each day that we practice and learn more about our government, the more they are getting excited to attend this special day.
