Jose and Nila at the Target Kiosk looking for job openings
8/28/14
Today we went to Target, GameStop, Moes Southwest Grill, Hibbitts Sports, and Rue 21.
At Target we interviewed a number of people. Each student group filled out a questionaire made up of eight questions that helped us learn about the different opportunities at the stores.
At Target:
- There are many types of jobs. Their computers at the front of the store outline 10-15 different types of positions a person can apply for that include: cusomer service, management, food services, pharmacists, grocery, cashier, stocker, and asset management.
- New employees begin at minimum wage and can progress to make up to $100,000 a year.
- There are three shifts most individuals work.
- Most employees work part-time. Only salaried employees are considered full-time.
- Employees can earn personal days according to the amount of hours they work. They are not offered medical insurance but can purchase medical insurance through the company.
- New employees are drug tested.
- There are three main positions at GameStop: sales associate, management, owner.
- The starting pay is $7.25 an hour.
- Employees can work both part-time and full time employees
- Employees need to be at least 16 years old.
- If you are a full-time employee you are elligible for health ensurance, sick pay and holiday pay.
