Exercise is essential part of IHS Transition II

Now, that the weather is starting to make a turn towards the spring, the IHS Transition II class can spend extra time outside doing exercise outdoors. Exercise is vital part of the students daily routine. It allows the students to improve their stamina for their daily tasks at their job sites throughout the week.

The favorite exercise for all the students is when we go to the track and walk a mile or more. It's fun to just walk at your own pace and enjoy the fresh air.

Today was our final day for our Valentine's day photo booth here at Independence High School. Our students had a blast!! Our general ed students had a great time and really got into the spirit of taking pictures with the props. Even several of our staff members bought cards and flowers and took their picture. It was a quick simple and easy ideal gift for their spouse. Take a picture; print it, cut it out and put it in the card with a simple valentine's message and a flower...Bang! Valentine gift is complete.

During the final lunch, Ashley with the help of Mrs. Harter went through the lunch room to sell flowers and invite everyone to get their picture taken. Apparently, that idea work wonders as their was a mad rush of students to come get their pictures taken.

Day 2: Photo Booth

Today business picked up for our photo booth. The students were eager to get to selling and the students began to buy more cards, flowers, and photos!
Mrs. Harter brought in a work light to shine up our backdrop and attract more customers. It seemed to work. Many made note of how cool the backdrop looked. To drum up a little business our students posed a few times to show the student body how to have a little fun with the props.
This gives our students the experience of working in a small business and interact with the student body. The smiles on their faces shows they are having a great time with our valentine's photo booth business. Tomorrow, is our last day for this venture. We are hoping to really make a big splash and have a great time on valentines day.
